¡Hola!
Estoy aprendiendo español y aquí es donde guardo mis notas, frases y demás.
Hello!
I’m learning Spanish, and this is where I am keeping my notes, phrases, and more.
I’ve collected various materials to help me learn… stuff from Facebook, instruction manuals, flyers, books, newspapers, and other written things, and this website is my attempt to put some of it together and to go back and actually look at the stuff I’ve saved from Facebook. I also wanted a place to save the many translations I do in DeepL, as it only saves a week of history if you don’t have an account. I’m also trying to include notes on why things are said the way they are, instead of the way I first tried to say them. Many times the translator shows what I think I’m saying, but when I switch it to Spanish, it often changes a lot of what I said.
My scattershot approach has not been very efficient, but I have been greatly enjoying the learning process, for the most part. Sometimes I get frustrated when I try to speak, because I’m naturally a slow person and it takes lot of effort for me to speak – even in English – and I need a lot of repetition to learn new things. Another frustrating time is when I compare myself to others. I try not to, because as the saying goes, «Comparison is the thief of joy.» And that is certainly true. This is my first serious attempt at learning a new language.
